How might we create a relaxing and comfortable space for international travelers to provide premier waiting experience but also accessible to the public ?

THE PROBLEM


High costs and overcrowding in airport lounges

  • Travelers in need of a comfortable and enjoyable space to wait for their flights.

  • Passengers hoping to grab a quick drink or snack before their departure.

  • 27% of total airport quick-service restaurants (QSR) revenue stems from beverages and snacks

Tea houses are uncommon and often represent only one culture

THE SOLUTION

The T Lounge

The T Lounge is a tea lounge experience designed for travelers at international airport terminals. We provide visitors a unique, peaceful, and immersive tea experience.

Interactivity

To enhance the customer's tea lounge experience by providing them with a personalized, enjoyable, and seamless experience, we have developed four primary interactive features.

The T Lounge Website

Customers can pre-order via our website, which doubles as a full menu and flight schedule reminder. Visit the site directly or scan the barcode on ads outside the boarding area. The site also features instructional videos for our DIY Tea Box service.

DIY Tea Box

Dine-in customers can opt for a DIY tea box to make their own tea or order ready-to-drink options from the barista, offering both a hands-on experience and insight into the tea-making process.

Tea Entrance

The Tea Entrance, a world tea map wall installation at the T Lounge entrance, features tea cans arranged by origin. It creates a tranquil transition space for visitors to relax and select their preferred canned tea before checkout.

Monthly Discoveries Discount

Our Monthly Discoveries program introduces discounts on selected menu drinks each month, encouraging customers to explore new options and fostering loyalty by offering a unique experience with every visit.

THE PROCESS

Following research on various tea types, we developed a visualization tea map and a tea timeline, showcasing the diversity and history of different teas.These visualizations inform the design of our airport tea lounge experience, enhancing our thematic and educational offerings.

The T Lounge is a premium airport tea house offering an exceptional lounge experience and an exclusive executive tea collection. Customers can enjoy innovative, high-quality tea drinks and gain insights from expert tea baristas, all within a comfortable, modern setting equipped with premier amenities, perfect for relaxing before a long-haul flight.

The T Lounge offers a serene and inclusive atmosphere for all travelers, with consistent, welcoming language across all materials. Our minimalist aesthetic, featuring clean designs and clear legibility, ensures a relaxing environment throughout.

User Persona

Floor Plan & User Flow

To manage airport traffic and maximize customer revenue, we've created 3 user flows: dine-in customers follow the blue line to order and relax in the lounge, while those in a hurry use the yellow and red lines for quick pickup. We've also divided the T Lounge into 3 zones based on expected density: the red zone for ordering, the yellow zone for quick pickup, and a low-density area for relaxation and work.
