THE PROBLEM
37%
Of the students who did not participate in school lunch , 15% reported they do not eat during the lunch period.
Time management / many students buy unhealthy instant foods for extra time to play sports
Club meetings / club meetings force students to order collectively, which cannot be realized by school cafeteria
Crowds / students have low incentive to wait in long lines for food

THE SOLUTION
Dish Delight
is an on-campus food delivery app that enables its users to order food from their campus cafeteria.
Visual Storytelling
I also created an advertisement video for Dish Delight to establish an emotional connection with the audience through appealing visuals, captivating music, and engaging narration. This video uses visual storytelling to highlight the app's key features, benefits, and unique solutions, making the presentation dynamic and engaging.

THE PROCESS
User Research
To address the specific needs of high school students and teachers in schools with distant cafeterias, I have conducted an analysis of their pain points.
Competitive Analysis
Competitive analysis helped me in knowing the competitors in China and the US. The radar diagram showcases the existing opportunities for a more customized food delivery app that suits on-campus cafeterias.

Lo-fi Mockups
Following the development of the user flow, I began drafting low-fidelity screens using procreate. This method of sketching allows for rapid idea capture and provides an opportunity to assess these concepts prior to the more intensive task of digital implementation.
Mid-fi Mockups
After establishing a clear visual layout, I began enhancing the sketches with additional details. This step was pivotal in concentrating on the visual consistency and hierarchy prior to styling. Within these wireframes, I integrated proven design patterns observed in competitor products, and elements specifically tailored to address the users' goals, needs, frustrations, and motivations.

Usability Testing
I created paper prototypes of the mid-fidelity mockups and engaged my friends, who fall within the target user group, to conduct usability testing. The feedback was unanimous in favoring the second design for the meeting page, as illustrated below.

Reflection
Design with the user in mind.
Dish Delight is my first UI/UX design project, and it was a defining moment that sparked my love for the field.
Throughout the project, I learned the importance of empathy, user research, and iterative design. I realized the true power of UI/UX design in creating intuitive and engaging user experiences, shaping my approach to design ever since.
